Johan Brings Home Podium Finish From Utah:                  August 13, 2016
Utah Motorsports Park, formerly Miller Motorsports Park, provides a beautiful setting for a race weekend. Testing, practices, qualifying and two races were consolidated into 3 very busy days.   Race 1 was a good race, but Johan hit the limit of how far he could push the car and it wasn't enought enough to catch the leaders, but enought to hang onto 4th place.  "Communication is also key between a driver and the crew along with a crew able to get in there and make quick changes to set up" says Johan. "Shea Racing's crew took my feedback from Race 1 and made necessary changes, I knew we had a good car right at the green flag of the standing start in Race 2.  I was able to push the car further and it was much more responsive.  Just what we needed to put the CAS Group, Instrumart, PCAP:Prostate Cancer Awareness Project and HeelToe car on the podium."  Johan finished the weekend with a 4th and a 2nd place, the first podium for the #66 Honda Civic this season.

August 7, 2016

Johan started the season with Pirelli World Challenge's opener at COTA in Austin, Texas.  A track Johan had triple wins at in 2015.  The start of the season did not go as planned when Johan was taken out in race one in the first lap by a TC car.  Repairs were made and the car ran well in the start of Race 2 with Johan making up some ground immediately in the first few laps.  Then, suddenly, going 120 mph, a hub shattered causing a wheel to come off the car.  Johan was able to maneuver the car to the sidelines inches from the guard rail.

Switching cars and team for the season - yes, a great plan only the car Johan was scheduled to drive was crashed out and the team was unable to get back on track in time for LIme Rock.

So what does a driver like Johan due when not on the Pirelli World Challenge circuit?  He stays in shape both on the track and off, he focuses his attention on his coaching clients and focuses on getting back in the car with Shea Racing.

The car is ready - the Shea Racing is ready - and Johan is ready for Utah, August 11th -13th.   Watch live streaming of the race - details below.
